Here is a post to call your attention to something both simple and useful: the use of the prefix -over. Read the comic strip attentively before you try to answer my question:
Look at the picture and use it to try to understand overbooked. Do you think they had more or less booking than available? Just looking at the picture we can see that it is obviously more. Whenever we add the suffix over- to a word we are adding to the word the idea that something is too much!
If I say, for example, that someone is overreacting, this person is "reacting too much". You need to be careful when you are making something in the kitchen not to overcook your food.
Easy? Difficult? ;)
